Beauty On A Budget

Before there was Sephora and Ulta, we bought our beauty products from the drugstore. Although much of the products that can be found in my make-up bag now are from Sephora, I still have a few brands and products that I love that can be found in almost any drugstore. Being a college student I look for bargains in my day to day life, beauty products included. I have compiled a list of my favorite drugstore beauty products and brands that can be sure to not break the bank. I will provide links to all of these products underneath each, linking the lowest price I find. However, all of these products can be found in Target, Walmart, Walgreens, and CVS.

Do not mistake Elf’s low price for poor quality. Over half of their products are under $5, which who can pass up a deal like that. My favorite product from elf is their Tone Adjusting Face Primer. Being that I suffer from an extremely red face, this product evens out my skin tone and lessens the redness. It also is extremely hydrating which helps with the application of my foundation. Another product that I love of Elf’s is there beauty blender. I have seen numerous beauty blenders on the market that run up to $20, but why spend that kind of money when you can get this one for this one is $5. This beauty blender helps make your foundation stay flawless throughout the day and into the night.

When I look for a foundation I look for a product that is going to stay put throughout all of the activities that I partake in throughout the day, one that is hydrating, and one that offers a variety of colors to match all skin tones. I love Revlon Colorstay as it checks off all of my boxes and much more. Colorstay has over 40 options, stays from 6am to 8pm, and creates a dewy effect. Also you cannot beat the price of $8.

No one in the drugstore beauty industry does mascara quite like L’Oreal. Between their broad range of options to fulfill all of your wants and needs, L’Oreal is the brand you need. Volume & length are their specialties. I love a set of voluminous lashes and extreme length. The products I use to achieve this look is the L’Oreal Paris Voluminous Primer and the L’Oreal Paris Voluminous Lash Mascara. I start by putting the primer on my upper lashes and wait 3 minutes. Once the primer is dry I put three coats of mascara on top of the primer for a false lash effect. I then apply one coat of mascara to my lower lashes to give more definition to my eyes.

Although Milani is a newer drugstore beauty brand, I have become addicted to many of their products. Their products are unique and offer high-end quality at a low price. My holy grail product that I cannot recommend enough is their Milani Stay Put Brow Color. I use this product daily to outline my brows and fill them in to create a more full illusion. This pomade is easy to use and is offered in five different colors to match all brows.

Nude Lips, Drugstore Edition

If you have read my past blogs you will have remembered my go-to nude lip. Although I love the products that I talked about in that post, those products are definitely not budget friendly. I found drugstore dupes that deliver the same look that I love, for less. Covergirl Exhibitionist Lip Liner in Caramel Nude is extremely hydrating and stays in place for at least 12 hours. Milani Keep It Full Nourishing Lip Plumper in Champagne delivers the perfect nude color. The shimmer in the formula gives your lips a plumping effect. As a bonus this gloss also serves as a moisturizer.
