Best Books 0f 2020 (so far)

With all of this free time between the quarantine and graduating college, I have finally found time to get back into reading. I forgot how captured I get by books and how I find it hard to put them down. I want to share with you my top favorite books that I highly recommend you all reading.

My favorite genre of books is romance. I’m a sucker for love stories. However, I recently have branched out and have enjoyed many other genres as well. This list has books in all of the different genres. Under each book I will provide links with that book as well as others that are similar or by the same author.

1. Little Fires Everywhere

If you have been among those who loved the Little Fires Everywhere series on Hulu, then you need to read this book. It has suspense, mystery, love and drama all combined in this under 300 page novel. The author Celeste NG has many other books as well that I will link below that have many highly rated reviews.

2. Girl Stop Apologizing

In the Summer of 2018 the book, Girl Wash Your Face was the go-to book. The book discussed advice for women on topics of relationships, job searching, friendships, and mental health. Recently the author, Rachel Hollis came out with her second book Girl Stop Apologizing. This book is just as good as the first. If you’re a woman looking for a motivational book, this is the one for you.

3. Bared to You series

Were you obsessed with the Fifty Shades of Grey series like the rest of the nation? If so, then you need to get your hands on this series. With a similar romantic story as Fifty Shades, this book will be hard to put down. I read the entire series in less than two weeks. This is one book that I am hoping a movie follows.

4. And Then She Was Gone

A few months ago while on a road-trip my mom was listening to this book as an audible. After listening to it for a few minutes, I knew that I needed to read it myself. This book is the ultimate mysterious love story. The twist and turns and anticipation continues from the first page to the very last.  If you ever thought your family had drama, you’ll rethink that after finishing this book. I plan on re-reading this novel as it was THAT good!

5. Every Breath

For all of you romance fans out there, I am sure you are no stranger to Nicholas Sparks. Sparks writes the ultimate fairy-tale love stories. Your fairy-tale dreams come alive while reading these books. “Every Breath” is no exception to his novels. This book takes place on a dreamy beach in South Carolina. It follows a couple who falls in love in the most unexpected and chilling way. If you’re a fan of “The Choice”, “The Notebook”, or “Dear John” then this book is for you. As an added bonus the film version of this book comes out later in the year.

Whether you find yourself with extra time on your hands or you’re looking for a book that you can read on your summer vacation, I HIGHLY recommend one of these books. These novels will take you to another world. They also will be hard to put down. Prepare to be obsessed.
